How big is the Sun?
The Sun is about 1.39 million kilometres across — roughly 109 Earths side by side — and holds 99.86% of all the mass in the Solar System.
You could fit about 1.3 million Earths inside the Sun by volume. It's a fairly average star by galactic standards, but next to the planets it's overwhelming: everything else in the Solar System combined is a rounding error against it.
It only looks small because it's about 150 million kilometres away — light itself takes over eight minutes to cross that gap.
