Can you see the Great Wall of China from space?
No — not with the naked eye. Despite the popular myth, astronauts have confirmed you can't pick out the Great Wall from orbit without help; it's long but very narrow, and blends into the landscape.
The Wall is thousands of kilometres long but only a few metres wide, roughly the width of a highway, and built from materials the colour of the ground around it. From the International Space Station it's essentially invisible to the unaided eye, and from the Moon no human structure can be seen at all.
Cities, airports, and greenhouses are actually far easier to spot from orbit — especially at night, when the whole planet lights up.
